Business Plan 2017 - 2019

The Bateman Primary Business Plan for 2017 – 2019 has been developed by the School Board to encompass the aspirations of the Bateman Primary community to provide a vibrant and effective school which offers quality social and academic opportunities for students from a wide range of backgrounds in a caring and supportive environment. In developing this plan, the Board and school have surveyed students, staff and parents to determine those things that are important to them and utilised existing data and teacher judgements to generate focus areas for the next three years. The plan is aligned to Dempster’s “Leading for Learning Framework” (2009).

This plan will form part of a suite of Departmental and school-based documents that will inform our actions in fulfilling our vision for Bateman Primary. It reiterates the Director General’s “Classrooms First” strategy and references the Department’s Strategic Plan – “High Performance; High Care”.

Along with the “Focus 2017” and subsequent documents, our business plan outlines an overview of the direction of the school towards continuous improvement in academic and non-academic areas. During the period of this Business Plan the Board will work closely with the Bateman school community to identify its aspirations for our future and develop long-term strategies to lead our school over an extended period and be the basis of the next business plan, 2020 – 2022.

Our Business Plan will ensure that programs and operations are suitably resourced and implemented to maximise opportunities for all students to develop their skills, understandings and practices to achieve to the best of their ability and transition to further education.

Over the next three years Bateman Primary School will focus on the following areas:

1. Leadership (Enabling and Supporting Growth and Change)

2. Professional Development (Explicit focus on the Development of Quality Teaching and Staff Growth)

3. Conditions for Learning (The Physical and Learning Environment)

4. Curriculum and Teaching (Quality Teaching and Highly Effective Learning)

5. Parents and Community (Effective Partnerships)
